I love textiles - it's one of my favorite things to buy when I travel, so when I found these gorgeous hand-embroidered panels, I couldn't resist getting a few and sharing them here! These have been hand-embroidered by members of the Kuchi tribes, and each one is unique. These are vintage items, and some of them show a bit of wear on the cloth around the embroidery, but the designs themselves are in excellent shape.
Each panel measures approximately 10"x10," but as these are handmade items, this may vary slightly. The embroidered area is approximately 7-1/2" x 7-1/2". Some of these are close to a perfect square, some are a bit skewed, but all of them have vibrant colors and beautiful handiwork. Each piece is different... the embroidery patterns are all very similar to the sample photos here, but colors vary. Some have florescent orange thread on one or two squares and a few are embroidered on colored cotton backgrounds (such as light green or bluish-gray.)
These are fantastic for incorporating into ethnic style handbags, art quilts, and other textile projects. You could also make a gorgeous handmade art journal cover or traveler's notebook, or incorporate this into the background of a shadow box. If you're feeling especially adventurous, you could even cut it up and use the pieces in smaller projects.
