This original mixed media artwork was created on a 9"x12"x1-1/2" cradled birch panel and is a study in texture. Paint, heat embossing, more paint, and more embossing are layered in flowing ribbons that wrap all the way around the sides of the panel. The center section features patterned and embossed circles embedded in a rough, colorful, lava-like flow which contrasts beautifully with the rest of the piece. The circles have been accented with vintage Turkmen buttons and a small pendant studded with glass "jewels" and tiny dangling bells, and the pendant was crowned with a small glass nazar bead from Turkey.
