In recent years I have developed a love for watercolor - both as an art in and of itself and for use in my mixed media projects. I put this kit together after teaching a class called "Watercolor for Mixed Media" to give people just the essentials for getting started. I've included a few of my favorite products - there's plenty for you to do a lot of painting, as well as a few extra goodies for creating effects. Get started painting and experimenting today!
Watercolor Basics Kit Includes:
- 6 colors of ShinHan PWC Professional Watercolor in a 6-well plastic palette
- Colors: Permanent Red, Permanent Yellow Light, Viridian Hue, Cobalt Blue, Permanent Violet, and Burnt Sienna

- 1 White Crayola Crayon (for resist effects)

- 1 mini scoop to use with pigment powder
- 1 piece of cotton flannel (for wiping paint brushes)
- 4 5x7 pieces of 140lb watercolor paper
- 1 5x7 piece of black watercolor paper

- 1 Signo UniBall gold gel pen
- 1 Tombow Mono black drawing pen (pigment, .05 Tip)
*Note that the rubbing alcohol evaporates, so there's less in the bottles than when I assembled the kits but it's easy and inexpensive for you to refill your bottle. Your kit may also have a sample container that held liquid frisket, but this has dried out in the kits that still have it. I have adjusted the price of the kit to account for both of these issues (you will see on the package that it was originally $25.)
