Trinket Tins & Treasures | Textiles and Mixed Media Supplies in New or Vintage Tins

I love and collect tins, especially vintage ones. I have a large tin filled with sewing supplies that used to belong to my grandmother, small tins with mixed media treasures gifted by friends, and many in between. I thought there may be others out there who love a tin full of goodies as much as I do, so Trinket Tins & Treasures were born!

I have taken both new and vintage tins and filled them with goodies from my stash. There are textiles - both fabric and trims, along with lots of embellishments and other supplies. While I will add more as I'm able, but note that each set with the tin and its contents is a one-of-a-kind offering.

Round Tin with Birds on the Lid - Vintage - $46.99 - SOLD

Here you can see the contents of the Round Bird Tin. This set is now sold, but I can do similar custom packs (minus the tin and this exact wax seal) as Curated Stash Packs.

This set includes a brass wax seal and handle. There is also a bag full of wax beads to use with the seal that didn't make it into the photo, but the colors match the colors of the tin and the contents.

Round Tin with a Red, Blue, and Green Design - Vintage - $47.99

This beautiful tin is a favorite of mine. It is also vintage with some wear and tear, including a few dings. Note that the lid sticks a bit and can be hard to get off (I will leave it to you if you want to use a bit of WD-40.) The tin is 7" in diameter and about 1-3/8" in depth.

Inside you'll find a variety of fabrics and trims in reds and blues. Also a card of red vintage buttons and two fun embellishments that I made that include brass findings and more vintage buttons. There are also some vintage rhinestones and beads in a small blue glass bottle. Vintage Trunk-Style Tine with Orange and Blue Flowers - $58.99

I was so taken with the size and shape of this tin and the bright, beautifully colored flowers all over the outside. It is vintage and there is wear and tear, but overall it's in good condition. The tin is 6-3/8" long x 4" wide x 3-3/4" tall at the highest point of the lid.

This set includes a 2 brass wax seals and a handle (they screw on - you can switch them out.) There is also a bag full of wax beads to use with the seal that didn't make it into the photo, but the colors match the colors of the tin and its contents.

I had a great time picking fabrics, trims, and embellishments to pair with this tin. You'll see lots of flowers and a few butterflies. There's also a handmade -by-me embellishment from brass findings and an acrylic flower.

Tall Blue Hexagonal Tea Tin with Cranes and Waves - $41.99

This tin is brand new, never used aside from filling it to the brim with goodies. It's actually a tea tin, and comes with a bag for tea leaves that I've left inside at the bottom. The tin is 5-7/8" tall by about 3-1/2" wide (it's hexagonal - width is measured from point to point.)

This set includes a brass wax seal with a beautiful Asian-style mountain scene along with a handle. There is also a bag full of wax beads to use with the seal that didn't make it into the photo, but the colors match the colors of the tin and the contents.

I kept to the blues and gold of the tin and included some Chinese and Japanese fabrics and patterns that I thought were a fun pairing. There are also reproduction Chinese coins, some lovely jacquard ribbon with dragons, a fantastic gold-foiled roll of washi tape (waves) and lots of other fun goodies for you to explore.

Short Blue-Green Tea Tin with Dragons - $24.99

This tin is brand new, never used aside from filling it to the brim with goodies. It's actually a tea tin, and comes with a bag for tea leaves that I've left inside at the bottom. The tin is 2-5/8" tall by about 3-1/2" wide (it's hexagonal - width is measured from point to point.)

The color is a lovely blue-green - almost turquoise, with gold highlights. There's a dragon motif on one side with a phoenix on the other.

Inside I've filled the tin up with a large piece of light green-blue embroidered fabric (vintage) with some lovely coordinating trims. There's a beautiful roll of washi tape the features branches of what look like plum blossoms on a blue background. A bag of beads - mainly Czech glass, some wired pearl trim and some metallic cord from India.

I've also made a few embellishments from brass filigree pieces with acrylic flowers and rhinestones and the larger has a vintage button. There's a handful of other embellishments to use in your projects.

Vintage Tall & Narrow Tin in Red, Green, & Gold - $54.99

This vintage tin is one of my favorites - I was strongly tempted to keep it for myself! I love the shape of it and it's vintage, but in pretty good condition. It's about 5-1/4" wide by ~3-1/4" deep. It's about 4-3/4" tall, not counting the knob on the lid which is about 3/4" tall.

I've filled this with lots of fabrics and trims in coordinating colors, mostly vintage. I thought the colors and patterns paired well with this fun single stamp by Lynne Perrella that I accidentally bought two of.

This set also has two brass wax seal heads and a handle (see closeups of the designs above) along with a bag of wax pellets in matching colors.

And, of course, you'll find plenty of bling and embellishments, a few small roles of gold foiled washi taps, and a gorgeous beaded crocheted flower - vintage from India.

Vintage Hinged Wedgewood Blue & Cream Tin - $33.99

This is a lovely tin - reminds me of Wedgewood porcelain with the color and the cream embellishments. I actually have this same tin in my own stash! This one is a bit worse for the wear - I included a closeup of some of the rust spots (there are some inside as well.) The lid is hinged and it's also quite tight. But on the whole, still beautiful with lots of life left in it!

I've paired this tin with vintage fabrics in creams and light blues - lots of embroidery and a few lovely pieces of lace. There are some vintage buttons, including cream porcelain buttons. A nice silver Turkish charm and some other pearl embellishments.

There's also a beautiful vintage beaded flower embellishment from India.

Chest-Style Green & Gold Tin - $58.99

This fun vintage tin is shaped a bit like a chest with a lid that comes off completely. The tin is 7-1/2" x 5-3/16" at the widest / longest points and just over 4" tall with the lid on, including the feet. The actual usable depth is just over 3".

I've filled this tin with lots of greens - vintage and new scraps of embellished fabrics, some trims and lace, vintage buttons, cool gold tassel trim, a handmade embellishment that I made with a large vintage button and metal pieces and jewels. There's also a single stamp by Lynne Perrella for PaperArtsy - one of my favorite designs. (I loved it so much, I bought it twice!)

There's a selection of papers, labels, and lots of blingy bits. There are also some fun beads, including recycled glass beads from Africa. There's also a roll of washi tape that features paintings by Van Gogh.

Sage and Yellow Hinged and Flowered Tin - $59.99

This beautiful little tin sat on display in my studio for quite a while, but I had to let it go in order to make room for other treasures. But my loss is your gain! This tin definitely shows some age, but I personally love seeing the signs of its story showing here and there. It measures 6-1/4" long by 4-1/4" wide and 3-3/4" tall, although on the inside you have just about 3" of depth.

I've filled this tin with lots of fun fabric and trims, some lovely fabric embellishments, beads and jeweled bits and pieces, and even a little roll of washi tape.

Green and Gold Tall Narrow Tin - $38.99

This is a lovely tin that I think was used for chocolates in its past life. Note that it does have some signs of wear - spots of rust and the paint is worm in places. Mostly on the inside, but some outside as well. The tin is about 5-1/4" wide by ~3-1/4" deep. It's about 4-3/4" tall, not counting the handle on the lid which is about 3/4" tall.

Inside are several different fabrics in shades of greens and golds. Some embroidered, some sequined, and some with metallic threads. There are several trims and some patches and smaller pieces that are great to cut out as embellishments.

I've also included jewels, African glass trade beads, a crocheted floral piece from India, and a fun brass flower embellishment that I made just for this kit.

Wedgewood-esque Blue, Cream, & Gold Tall and Narrow Tin - $34.99

This fun tin has lovely scenes that look to be inspired by Wedgewood in both style and colors. The tin itself is about 5-1/4" wide by ~3-1/4" deep. It's about 4-3/4" tall, not counting the handle on the lid which is about 3/4" tall.

This one is filled with shabbier style supplies in colors that match the tin. There's lots of lace (most lace pieces are at least 12") and some embroidered and sequined trim. There are also some vintage embroidered fabrics (might need ironing) and various little patches.

I included some gold foiled washi tape with a blue decorative pattern, some gems and embellishments, including Czech glass flower beads. There's also a fun handmade embellishment with filigree brass, acrylic flowers, and a Turkish nazar bead.

Persimmons & Birds Tall Tea Tin - $41.99

This tin is brand new, never used. It's actually a tea tin and comes with a bag for tea leaves that I've left inside at the bottom. The tin is 5-7/8" tall by about 3-1/2" wide (it's hexagonal - width is measured from point to point.) Note that there are a few small dings that appear to have happened during initial shipping.

This tin is filled with a mix of different types of fabrics and trims. Some metallic jacquard fabric mixed with a fun houndstooth upholstery fabric. Some embroidered trims - some with beads and / or sequins. I've included a beautiful wax stamp with a handle and a bag of wax beads (see the photos for a closeup of the seal.) There's even a cool pair of scissors that seemed to want to go in this assortment.

There are, of course, fun embellishments as well (including one that I hand made.)
