This is part of a series of necklaces I made featuring pendants created from scraps of various fabrics. This particular necklace has a layered, 2-part pendant. The larger back layer is made from a scrap of fabric embroidered with a pink flower with green leaves. It's attached to a circular open bezel with green embroidery thread and I stitched on a "fringe" of embossed brass charms from India. The smaller layer features a small scrap of embroidered organza attached to a small brass open bezel with dark red thread and it's finished with a stitched-on red glass jewel.
The chain is beaded for about 3-1/2" on either size of the pendant and features light pink glass bicone beads, white and red Kakamba beads and leaf green Ashanti beads from Africa, brass saucer-shaped spacer beads, and six small brass charms (3 on each side) from India. The rest of the chain is brass link and it's finished with a lobster clasp.
The chain measures ~22" and the drop on the pendant is ~2".
