I love fabric and thread just as much as I love paper and glue. So why not combine the two? In this full-day workshop we’ll explore a variety of techniques for using both paper and fabric as we stitch and stick our way to a textured and layered mixed media collage.
If sewing isn’t your thing you can “stick” with glue. And if you do sew, the stitches can be as basic or fancy as you’d like and you can do a little or a lot – it’s all up to you. (Stitching demos will also be provided for those who want to learn the stitches in my samples.) |
We combine paints with rubber stamps, paper, and fabric and make a layered and collaged background. You'll also learn a fun and easy technique for using stencils to create a layered focal point combining fabric and paint with stencils and paper, then finish with final accents and optional stitches.
There will also be a discussion and demonstration on how to combine bits and pieces to create unique embellishments to add to your piece so that you finish with a fabulous mash-up of fabric and paper that's ready to display. |
If there's anything on the supply list that you need or want for the class on June 25, 2022 (or you just want to browse and do some fun shopping!) head over to the Artistic Artifacts website for links to many of the supplies on this list.
