Elephants are a favorite motif to use in my work, and these stunningly detailed trims from India make it easy to add them to mixed media and textile projects for some unexpected flair! I like to use them in mixed media portraits, in my assemblage pieces, or in art quilts. They'd also be fabulous accenting a handmade laptop or tablet case.
I've seen the embroidered trims like the ones here in shops in the Garment District in NYC for upwards of $50 a yard! Buy buying them directly from India I was able to bring the price down considerably, plus trims are sold by the foot. This way you can get what you need instead of having to buy a full yard. (However, I cut to order so if you want more than one foot, it will come in a continuous piece wherever possible.)
