E6000 is a clear, industrial-strength multi-purpose that is absolutely amazing. It permanently bonds wood, metal, glass, fiberglass, ceramic, leather, rubber, vinyl, and most plastics. It's ideal for mixed media and assemblage applications.
E6000 is one of my go-to adhesives, especially when I'm working with metal or heavier dimensional items. Although it does smell, it's water-proof, flexible, non-flammable, photo safe, and paintable. The trick to using it is to make sure to get Oxygen into the adhesive when you first put your item in place in order to activate it - this gets the bonding started and helps it adhere more quickly and with a stronger stick. (Put on the glue, set the item where you want it, then lift it up and set it down several times - it will get a bit stringy, but it works the Oxygen into the glue and helps it set.)
