I love to use a needle book to keep track of my needles or to carry with me in my sewing bag. These 100% hand-stitched needle books are based on the design for the first one that I made for myself. The books are ~2.5" wide by 3.5" tall (although some are a bit bigger - handmade!) and the inside "pages" are wool felt (30% merino.) There are 4 pages, and they measure ~2.25" x 3.25." The pages in my "old style" books were attached with metal eyelets, but I now hand-stitch the pages in as well so they're more secure and look a bit better. There's also a coordinating elastic closure attached through an eyelet on the back cover. I've also added a few beads that dangle from the spine for a fun and whimsical finishing touch.
Each one of these books is one-of-a-kind and they feature a mix of vintage and / or upcycled fabrics as well as fabrics and trims from my stash which has been sourced from all over the world. So although I can make more of a similar design, no two will be completely alike. Some of the fabrics I use include kantha from India, vintage Hmong fabrics and patches from Thailand, and vintage printed cottons. I also use scraps of modern cottons, block-printed fabrics from India, batiked Indonesian patterns, and even some Aboriginal Australian designs. Some of my needle books also feature embellished trims, mainly from India.
