These funky and bohemian Traveler's Notebook style notebook covers are handmade from vintage trims, modern cottons, and Indian sari ribbons. Each one is unique and has an elastic closure, room for 4 A5 notebooks (2 included.)
I love Traveler's Notebooks - I think their system that allows you to swap notebooks in and out of the same cover is pretty genius. When I discovered other artists on Instagram making their own covers using various fabric scraps and trims, I wanted to make some bohemian versions centered around Indian sari trims along with vintage ribbons and a few miscellaneous trims.
I made up my own pattern, sizing it to fit a standard A5 notebook - the cover, when closed, measures ~8.5" tall by 6" wide and has an elastic closure. My covers come with two notebooks (kraft covers - one with blank pages and one with a small grid) and there's room for you to insert up to four (you can easily find these on Amazon or other sites.) Each cover is soft - there's no rigid underlying structure, but they have three full layers as all of the trims you see on the outside are stitched to a piece of sturdy duck cloth or canvas. The insides are then lined with a modern cotton fabric in a fun pattern that I thought coordinated well with the outside. (See the image for each book to get a look at the inside pattern.)
Just a few notes... one, colors may not be exact. I've done my best to capture the colors accurately in the photos, but you may see variations based on your device's screen settings and calibration. Second, I'm not a sewist - when it comes to anything hand-sewn, I subscribe very much to the wabi sabi approach of embracing imperfection... lol. While I've checked to make sure seams are solid and relatively straight (the books were assembled with Wonderfil thread on a sewing machine,) you may encounter a wonky seam or something similar. I like to say that these little idiosyncrasies give each piece character and help make them one-of-a-kind!
