I started making my own books more than 20 years ago and in the last few years I've started making the majority of my own art journals using this exact binding technique. These miniature versions of those books are perfect for making tiny art journals (they're the same size as the ones in my Mini Journal Mayhem workshop) or for mini scrapbooks or sketching and watercolor books. Their size also makes them the perfect addition to your travel art or journaling kit.
These little books measure 3" x 2.75" x 1" and the pages are 2.5" x 2.5." There are 46 usable pages total, made from 140lb (300gsm) watercolor paper and stitched into three signatures with waxed linen thread. The cases (covers and spine) are made from 2mm binder's board and the covers and end papers are done with screen printed and / or embossed cotton rag paper. The spines are covered with coordinating fabric binding tape and each book is finished with metal corners on front and back covers to protect them from damage - that's especially helpful if you travel with your journals!
