As a stencil designer, I go through a lot of stencil brushes and am always on the lookout for good, sturdy brushes with stiff bristles. These are a Plain Jane brush - no name brand, no frills, but they come with genuine hog's bristle brushes which measure 7/8" from ferrule to tip and about 1/2" in diameter. (The entire brush is about 9" in length.) The round shape is great for getting good coverage and the size is perfect for small to medium projects or for larger projects where you're trying to get detailed images.
This brush also works great as a glue brush, especially for laying down end papers if you're binding your own books and journals.
