While I'm not generally all that knowledgeable about needles, I can be a bit picky about them and have started to narrow down the types that I like. Bohin is a brand that's been renowned in Europe as one of the leading manufacturers of good quality needles since 1833. I like the size (these are just over 1-1/2" in length) and the size of the eye is great for thin, un-stranded threads or ~1-2 strands if you're using stranded embroidery floss. I like that the sharp tip and smooth needle make for smoother stitching, and for someone with hand and wrist issues, that's always a key consideration.
