I love to use beeswax to wax my threads, especially for bookbinding, but I thought it would be so much more fun to have them in a fun, whimsical shape rather than just in a bar or disc. Enter my nature-themed thread waxers! Each one is made from 100% cosmetic grade Beeswax. I melt and pour the wax by hand into the molds. Because they're made individually, each one, even of the same shape, is a slightly different thickness. The dragonfly, butterfly, and bumble bee are all about 1/2" to 3/4" thick and approximately 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" in height and width (or larger.) The ladybug is closer to an inch thick and is about 2-1/4" long and a bit under 2" wide.
These thread waxers are perfect for waxing the end of your thread to make it easier to thread a needle, especially if you're using metallic and / or stranded thread or embroidery floss. They're also good for waxing the entire length of your thread to make it easier to pull it through certain fabrics. I also use them to make my own waxed threads for bookbinding.
