Mixed Media Statement Necklace - Turquoise and Orange with Mask
This mixed media necklace combines fabric, beads, coins, and brass findings for a one-of-a-kind statement choker necklace. From the handmade fabric bead to the tribal mask charm at the tip of the pendant, it's sure to start conversations wherever you go!
This necklace features one of my handmade fabric "obi" beads made from stamped vintage fabric and wrapped in Indian brocade and gold thread. The pendant tray is features a genuine turquoise freeform disc bead in the center layered with a replica Chinese coin and a Czech glass flower bead. The rest of the tray is filled with more flower beads, semi-precious gemstone chips, and pyrite sand and then sealed. The top section is a brass jewelry component layered with more Czech glass flower beads. The connecting beads are a mix of painted terra cotta, recycled African glass, painted Krobo beads, and amber colored Dogon (Dutch Donut) trade beads as well as brass spacers. I finished the pendant with a large tribal mask charm that I've enameled and colored to match the other components. The "chain" is recycled sari silk.
The "chain" is 22" with an 11-1/4" pendant drop.
