These pieces of original mixed media artwork each feature layers of collage, paint, and hand-drawn elements, including a portrait of a young Buddhist monk, watercolored leaves, and a butterfly printed from a hand-drawn and carved rubber block. Each comes matted and is ready to frame.
These pieces are all part of my collection of affordable, ready-to-frame original artwork. Each of these is done on paper and is approximately 8" x 10" and comes in an acid free 11" x 14" photo mat. The pieces are each mounted to the back of the mats with archival framing tape and they all come with a chipboard or mounting board backing in a plastic sleeve. All artwork is titled, signed, and dated on the back and will be carefully wrapped and supported for shipping.
"Fly" features multiple layers of paint and collage on cotton rag paper. I've also worked in collaged images from my hand-carved plum blossom and butterfly stamps. There are also stenciled images, layers of texture, and the heat-embossed title at the bottom with gold asemic writing creating a cruciform across the middle.
"Nature Person" was created on a watercolor paper substrate and features stenciling, ink, vintage papers and handmade collage papers as well as hand-drawn, stenciled, and watercolored leaves. The floral image on the bottom is a homemade rubon of one of my original watercolor drawings. There are also bits of ribbon and clay disc beads as well as a replica Chinese coin.
"Sleepy Young Monk in Myanmar" is a mixed media portrait on Indian cotton rag paper with layers of collage in the background including a vintage topography map, a hand printed woodblock image on mulberry paper, and screen-printed Japanese paper. The portrait was hand-drawn and painted with acrylics over top of the background with stenciled and then painted accents on top.
