Eclectica³ EGL-36 is a set of 8 deeply etched, cling-mounted red rubber stamps that I designed for PaperArtsy. The set features two faces with a crown and other supporting elements to create art dolls, mixed media figures, paper dolls, art journal pages, and more.
EGL36 is a part of my collection of stamps inspired by my Angels & Icons series of artwork as well as my all-time most popular workshop, also titled "Angels & Icons." (Also a new spin-off class called "Queen of Hearts!") This particular set features two faces that were hand-drawn based on original pencil portraits that I also drew and have used in some of my work. I've had several students ask if they could use my faces in their class projects and decided that it was time to create them as totally customizable stamps.
Change the skin tones, add hair or elaborate headdresses (or both!) and embellish away. I kept them to faces and accessories to allow you to add your own body or torso in whatever format you want. These work beautifully for art dolls, artist trading cubes, art journal pages, etc... As you can see in my samples, they also lend themselves to many different styles and approaches. I've also included a small sample to show how you can make just a few adjustments to the face with closed eyes to make them open.
I've also included stamp versions of the types of elements I add to these pieces, including a stylized heart, two different types of feathers and a kind of spike or staff that can be used for a headdress or other embellishments, a crown (it also makes a great neckline!) and a quarter repeat stamp that can be a corner, used back to back for a half-medallion border embellishment, or do a full circle to make a medallion / aura / halo for a multitude of projects.
