Eclectica³ EGL-38 is a set of 6 deeply etched, cling-mounted red rubber stamps that I designed for PaperArtsy. The set has a bird theme with three different birds, a feather, a branch, and a pair of acorns with an oak leaf. This set is ideal for mixed media art, art journaling, cards and tags, scrapbooking, and more.
As a lifelong bird lover and a more recent birder (although still somewhat novice,) I am thrilled to have an entire stamp set dedicated to birds. My backyard is full of feeders, nesting boxes, and a few roosting boxes as well as a couple of bird baths. I have a set of binoculars next to the kitchen window, several bird identification books on a nearby shelf, and a few apps on my phone. I love seeing the species that show up to eat and even more, which ones stay to nest in my yard. In the last few years I've counted at least 10 species each year building nests in the trees and nesting boxes right outside my door.
For this set, I picked a few favorites... the tiny and adorable Chickadee (this one is a Carolina Chickadee, although Black Capped Chickadees look basically identical.) I've also drawn the small Downy Woodpecker - the male has the red patch on the back of his head while females are just black and white. The feather included in this set is also patterned after a Downy Woodpecker's feathers. And finally the largest bird is a male Red Winged Blackbird who doesn't live in my yard but rather in the grasses on the banks of a nearby pond, but I'm close enough that we'll see the blackbirds as frequent visitors to the feeders. You can definitely change the coloration of the birds to get different looks and create your own species in your work. I've added a branch for the birds to perch on as well as a pair of acorns with a tiny oak leaf that can attach to the branch or be used on its own.
