Eclectica³ EGL-42 is a set of 6 deeply etched, cling-mounted red rubber stamps that I designed for PaperArtsy. The set is inspired by vintage embroidery patterns and includes three different medallion designs, a hexagonal repeating background, and two floral ornaments. This set is ideal for mixed media art, art journaling, cards, tags, scrapbooks, and more.
I love to use stamps and stencils as embroidery patterns, so when I stumbled upon an antique book full of vintage embroidery designs, I was excited by the possibilities! I thought the designs would be beautiful for embroidery, but also for stamps to be used on paper and in mixed media, art journaling, and other applications - with and without stitching. I took inspiration from some of my favorite patterns to create my own hand-drawn set of designs.
There are three medallion-esque images that are perfect as focal points, or they can be mixed and matched or used on their own to create repeating backgrounds, borders, and more. Of course, you can also stamp them on paper or fabric and use it as a pattern for embroidery! There is also a lovely hexagonal repeating background stamp, a stylized rose with buds, and a decorative design in the shape of a fleur de lys with several flowers coming out of it.
To keep true to the original inspiration, I didn't add any shading to my drawings for these stamps. As Artist Tribe member Jill says, they're beautifully "crisp" when you stamp with them! They're also fun to color with paint, pens, or markers.
