I have a long time love affair with textiles and embroidery, so when I found these vintage embroidered swatches I knew that I had to bring some of them in for the shop. Add them to your sewing projects, incorporate them into mixed media and paper crafts, the options are endless!
I absolutely fell in love with this beautiful vintage embroidery when I found it... I can picture using the butterflies and Egyptian motifs as part of a collage in an art journal or on a mixed media panel. You could also tack them to fabric and build around them with more stitching, or add other embellishment fabrics and trims to create a truly unique piece as a cover for your phone, tablet or eReader. I'm excited just thinking about the possibilities!
Each piece is beautifully embroidered on a loosely woven fabric and they're between 3" and 4" tall / wide (depending on the orientation of the image.)
Note the orange butterfly and the heart that are both marked "tear-away..." you can actually tear away the fabric on the inside of the design to reveal a beautiful coordinating pattern underneath! How fun is that?
