Ever since I found them, I haven't been able to get enough of these fabulous vintage Kuchi patches from Afghanistan. These are handmade pieces meant to embellish clothes and accessories and come in many shapes and styles. Each of these fantastic Kuchi patches (also called tikka medalllions or gul i peron patches,) measures between about 1" to 2" in diameter. Every patch is handmade and as vintage items, there's some wear and tear - you can expect a few loose threads, missing beads, etc... I've made sure that any patches with extensive damage have been held back, but I quite enjoy the character that these well loved pieces bring to my mixed media artwork. Try using one in the center of a small panel, as an accent on the cover of an art journal, or even use them to embellish fashion accessories!
