These beautifully detailed stencils designed by Jill McDowell for StencilGirl feature 7 trivet designs inspired by Japanese woodblock and Ukiyo-e prints along with 4 sets of Asian inspired crests and jars. They're perfect for art journaling, mixed media, and more.
Artist Tribe member Jill McDowell has designed beautiful and intricate stencils for StencilGirl. All of her Trivet stencils were inspired by mid to late 18th Century Japanese woodblock print books and Ukiyo-e prints. Use this mini stencil with inks or paints to adorn your art journal cover, create patterns on canvas or paper. You can mask out the inner circle to make a round frame or change the look by masking areas.

Jill designed all of the trivet stencils to form hidden patterns when repeated - repeat a stencil 4 times in a block pattern to reveal hidden circles and an unexpected central image. Repeat the stencil four times around an open space at 3 o’clock, 6 o’clock, 9 o’clock and 12 o’clock to creates a square frame, (or rectangular for the trivet duo designs).

Created to coordinate with the Jardinier Stencil, the Crests stencil and mask set is a collection of ten, 2-1/2" decorative circle masks inspired by heirloom antiques and traditional Japanese family crests. The stencil includes a solid circle designed to be used as a mask when gel printing, spraying, or using other mediums over one of the crest designs. The emblems on the individual crests represent a pagoda, a torii garden gate, a trisected chrysanthemum, a chrysanthemum over water, a wild cherry blossom, a wild ginger plant, Jill's Nana’s lamp, a China plate, a big wheel, and bamboo stalks. The crests are also perfectly sized and proportioned for Artist Trading Coins.
The Jardiniere and Ginger Jar stencils were inspired by Jill's love of antique China - specifically antique ginger jars, urns, and vases. Add a single vessel or showcase an entire collection of containers. Unadorned, vessels make wonderful spaces for journaling. Embellish them with designs from the companion Crest stencil to add even more detail and visual interest.
All stencils are made in the USA from 7mm mylar - it's thick enough to be durable, yet thin enough for a seamless look in your art.
