These gorgeous metal nichos were hand-crafted in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Each piece is unique with beautiful details! I love to use these to make shadow boxes or for use as the focal point in an assemblage piece, or you can use them with the original intent - to create your own altar pieces.

I have long been fascinated by altars, icons, and similar items - especially looking at them from an artistic perspective. Although I don't use them to make my own altars, I do love to use these nichos as the foundation for dimensional mixed media work.
You can create fabulous scenes inside of these little tins. Each has a glass door and tons of flexibility! The larger sizes are deeper, giving you even more options. You can paint them, add embellishments, collage them, and more. Think of them as fancy Altoid tins with glass doors! The small ones especially work well for that type of project.
