I love to use Japanese papers in my collage and mixed media artwork. They add a beautiful touch of both elegance and the exotic, all at once. Of course, since buying single sheets of Chiyogami and other Japanese papers can be very expensive, these mixed paper packs are a great way to get a lot of different papers to use in your work. I know that I rarely use large pieces, so these end up being the perfect solution!

Chiyogami Buffet - $16.95 per pack
These beautifully patterned papers are made with silkscreened designs printed onto machine made sheets made from a mix of kozo and sulphite (you may have heard them called yuzen, which seems to be the more popular name in the United States.) Many of the designs were originally developed as woodblock prints during the Edo period, and you can still see some of that tradition in today's papers.
This sampler pack includes 45 small sheets: 15 - 5"x5", 15 - 4"x4", and 15 - 3"x3." The packs were put together to have coordinating patterns on the front, but it's not indicative of what you'll find inside. Look at this sample from one of the packs to get an idea of the types of colors and patterns that could be included (each pack is different.)

This giant pack of papers gives you a lot to choose from! Please note that while there are beautiful patterned papers on the outside of the pack, the majority of what's inside will consist of un-patterned papers like mulberry, watermark tissues, linen cardstock, lace papers, and more.
As with the Chiyogami buffet, the papers on the outside don't necessarily indicate what's in the entire packet. You'll get scraps of patterned papers, full-size papers... this pack is ideal for collage and mixed media artists! I love to print on the plain papers, and they're all beautiful for tearing and using in my collage work and art journaling.
