Each one of these original pieces of mixed media artwork measures 5" x 7" and was created on an oversized playing card. There are layers of collaged papers, including beautiful handmade papers from Japan, Florentine papers, and vintage book pages and handwritten ledger papers. I've combined those with my own hand-painted or block-printed collage papers to create layers of texture on pattern. I've added stenciling, stamping with archival quality ink, and mark-making on top for additional detail, as well as rub-on letters and numbers and hand-painted emblems and motifs. There are also small scraps of vintage sari fabric or ribbon, securely attached with staples which were made into Xs for additional decorative value.
All paints and mediums are artist quality and are permanent and light-fast (except for the fluorescent pink on "In Disguise" - fluorescent colors are by nature not light-fast.) and each piece is coated with a satin varnish (except for the fabric,) and will come titled and signed on the back.
